Rebecca was formerly Head of Demand and Flexibility at Regen and now contributes to our work as an associate. Rebecca leads work at the nexus of technology, policy and human behaviour, and brings together knowledge about energy system infrastructure, the policies and practices that shape it and the way people interact with it. Rebecca specialises in work exploring the role of the demand side in energy system transformation, emerging opportunities for people to interact with energy systems in new ways, and the policy and practice changes needed to unlock innovation to drive a better, fairer and faster energy system transition to net-zero.
Rebecca received her DPhil from the University of Oxford in 2010, where she worked in the Energy and Power Group. Since then Rebecca has travelled the globe, leading large research and innovation programmes in New Zealand, the US and the UK that leverage state-of-the-art research and innovation to support real world policy and practice changes. When she isn’t working, Rebecca spends her time co-hosting the Local Zero podcast, surfing the Cornish coastline and experimenting with vegan cooking.
