*Dedicated session for stakeholders & customers from the Scottish Islands
We hosted the below webinars alongside Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN), to discuss the 2023 edition of the Distribution Future Energy Scenarios (DFES) analysis for the Southern Central England and North of Scotland Licence Areas.
The webinars were an opportunity to explore and discuss the potential deployment and location of future energy generation technologies, and the uptake of low carbon demand technologies. The data we have gathered through these webinars helps to validate the assumptions and modelling factors we apply to the DFES scenarios, to ensure that our forecasts reflect local plans, net zero ambitions and sector specific insights.
The DFES analysis is a key stage in SSEN’s wider network forecasting and investment planning process. Stakeholder feedback on our modelling assumptions that feed into this work is vital.
The interactive polling, discussion and Q&A session in these webinars will enable us to gather local and technical input around the growth of new or disruptive sources of electricity load in the North of Scotland and Southern Central England, including:
- Renewable energy generation
- Battery storage
- Electric vehicles
- Heat pumps
- Hydrogen electrolysis.
