Labour has promised to support local energy, including already removing planning blockages to onshore wind and, through GB Energy, offering up to £600m in funding available to local authorities and up to £400m in low-interest loans available to communities.

The community energy sector needs to be ready to maximise the benefits of any future policy changes. National Grid and Regen are therefore running this session to offer a chance for community energy organisations, local authorities, and community members with an interest in developing their energy projects to focus on the key elements of developing community-owned renewable generation. It is vital to ensure that, once further funding starts to come in, we can get projects off the ground as soon as possible.
