Associate director

Ray is part of the Regen leadership team, overseeing our work and strategic goals around the future of our energy system . Ray heads up the teams and programmes of work with National Grid and SSEN to deliver their Distribution Future Energy Scenarios analysis, as well as other work we do to understand the evolution of our energy networks.

Ray also leads the development of Regen’s capabilities, furthering the company’s technical capabilities, knowledge and expertise. He has strong experience in managing technical projects and is a regular speaker at energy industry events and conferences.

Ray’s academic background is in electrical engineering, he is a registered interim Chartered Engineer and has a parallel role working as the Technical Lead for the Electricity Storage Network. Ray joined Regen at the end of January 2017, after 13 years working in the water industry, developing and operating renewable energy assets and overseeing carbon reduction initiatives at South West Water and the Institute of Water.

In his spare time Ray is a keen martial artist, teaching/training in TaeKwonDo and Filipino martial arts in Exeter. Ray is also a huge fan of live music and is the lead vocalist for a Devon-based metal band.
