We are excited to have announced the prestigious annual Green Energy Awards.

The awards are a leading national celebration of the innovative technologies, pioneering companies and inspiring individuals shaking up the energy system.

The shortlisted nominees will now go through to the final stage of judging, where an expert panel of independent judges will select the winners who will be announced at a glittering awards ceremony at Bath’s historic Assembly Rooms on 27 November 2018.

Merlin Hyman, chief executive of Regen, said: “We were inspired to see so many strong nominations for ground breaking innovations, great projects and inspiring people leading the way to a decarbonised, decentralised and democratic energy system. The awards evening looks set to be a fantastic celebration of the inspiring achievements of those working in clean energy”.

The judging panel comprises of:

  • Lord Robin Teverson, a member of the House of Lords where he leads on energy and climate change issues for the Liberal Democrats
  • Ben Golding, the director of energy efficiency and local at the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy
  • Katie Black, the director of policy at the National Infrastructure Commission
  • Cathy McClay, the head of commercial operations at National Grid System Operator
  • Steve Atkins, the DSO Transition Manager for Scottish & Southern Electricity Networks
  • Phil Bazin, the environment team lead at Triodos Bank

The awards ceremony takes place after Renewable Futures, Regen’s annual conference and exhibition, which will feature a line-up of leading experts who will analyse the disruptive innovation shaking up the energy market and examine the strategies to adapt and create value in a rapidly changing market. The awards are announced at a dinner at Bath Assembly Rooms on 27th November. For more details and to purchase tickets see here.
