The Electricity Storage Network (ESN) Annual Conference is a platform for key industry players and policymakers to come together and engage in debate over what is needed to attract the billions of pounds of investment required for this crucial asset class – from supportive policy and regulatory frameworks to shifting revenue strategies and evolving business models. This comes at a period of political change, major market reforms and a challenging financial landscape.
We now have over 3.7 GW and 4.8 GWh of grid-scale battery storage operational and GWs in construction. There is now a 3 GW pipeline of new pumped hydro storage projects alongside other longer duration technologies in development. Grid-scale electricity storage is well-established as key to a zero-carbon energy system, a testament to the success of our 100+ ESN members.
You will hear directly from ESN members and key decision makers from the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ), Ofgem and National Energy System Operator (NESO) on the latest changes across a range of topics critical to the storage sector, including the revenue environment, grid connections, fire safety and long-duration energy storage. This is also an opportunity to learn about the ESN’s work to ensure policy, markets and regulation are geared to enable the storage sector to flourish and grow at the pace and scale required.

About the Electricity Storage Network
The ESN is a membership organisation, committed to creating an environment in which grid-scale electricity storage can flourish, ensuring that regulations and markets work for all types of storage, without favouring one particular technology.
Established in 2008 as the UK industry group dedicated to electricity storage, it includes a broad range of electricity storage technologies and members, such as electricity storage manufacturers and suppliers, project developers, users, electricity network operators, consultants, academic institutions and research organisations.
The ESN is managed by Regen. If you are interested in joining the ESN, please email Olly Frankland, ESN Lead.
