Where the electricity is constrained, communities, small energy generators and domestic customers have the potential to support the electricity network by providing flexibility in return for money. This can be provided by reducing, changing or even increasing their electricity use, increasing the electricity they generate and/or using battery storage.
The current markets for flexibility are designed for large scale players and the current national system is very different to what is required locally.
We asked:
- What is the role of a local flexibility market?
- What are the benefits of local flexibility to your community?
- How can small scale generators and community energy groups get involved in local flexibility markets?
- How would a local flexibility market work successfully?
The events present the opportunity to network with Western Power Distribution, your local electricity network operator, while also hearing from those at the cutting edge of the emerging flexibility market.
Registration is now closed.
