Labour has promised to support local energy, including already removing planning blockages to onshore wind and, through GB Energy, offering up to £600m in funding available to local authorities and up to £400m in low-interest loans available to communities.
The community energy sector needs to be ready to maximise the benefits of any future policy changes. It is vital to ensure that, once further funding starts to come in, we can get projects off the ground as soon as possible. This National Grid Electricity Distribution session is a chance for local authorities, community members, and other interested stakeholders to explore the process of developing two of the cheapest forms of community-owned renewable energy; onshore wind and rooftop solar.
This session will also introduce you to the different supporting roles National Grid Electricity Distribution plays in helping to develop community energy generation and to some of the key areas of the National Grid team.
This event is open to any individual regardless of their level of experience in the sector and is free for anyone to register for.
