Osborne Clarke Offices, Bristol
This series of online and in-person sessions are tailored specifically to address the operational challenges and collaboration needs of asset managers and owners who oversee renewable energy generation assets in National Grid Electricity Distribution’s (NGED’s) licence area.
The forums will facilitate direct interaction between NGED’s control room staff and existing generation assets, to enable constructive discussions for long-term progress and tangible outcomes.
The final session of the year will be an in-person session in Bristol, providing a brief update from NGED on major network changes planned and information on the DG portal as well as more detailed discussions on key areas of interest, examples of this include:
- Outage planning and services – including new outage portal, flexible outages, LTDS Reform, network development
- Data and digitalization – including data results, data engineering, use of GIS and operational data sharing (Open Networks)
- Repowering – including replacing assets, G99 and repowering processes
With an estimated 12 GW of connected assets represented, including solar PV, onshore wind, hydro, energy storage, anaerobic digestion, and gas peakers, the forum provides a diverse perspective on renewable energy technologies and the relating operational challenges.
These forums also provide opportunities to connect with peers, share experiences, and explore potential partnerships, whilst learning from others in the industry.
