Powering Britain’s ‘build back better’ agenda through regional decarbonisation and delivering the new energy connections that will support economic recovery.
Britain will be embarking on ambitious building projects as part of the Covid-19 recovery as our region seeks to progress decarbonisation in pursuit of net zero carbon emissions – from new housing and infrastructure projects to sources of renewable generation.
Are you currently developing decarbonisation pathways and action plans that will drive regional decarbonisation?
Electricity and Gas networks that are ready to support net zero will be vital to many of these plans.
Northern Powergrid and Northern Gas Networks want to bring you together for a dedicated event aimed at Local Authority energy planners, transport and decarbonisation managers across the North East and Yorkshire where we can openly discuss programmes of activity and the unique challenges we will face as a region.
As the region’s electricity and gas network operators, our role is to enable the clean energy transition for all our customers and network users.
Many actions under the ‘build back better’ banner will require new and different types of electricity connections, and many of these may need to come online much earlier than planned. At the same time, considerations around zero carbon gas, bio fuels and synthetic gas are gathering pace and need to be planned for.
At this closed-door session for Local Authority professionals, we’ll ensure you are fully up to speed on the support and advice we can offer.
We’d also invite you to share your local energy plans and priorities with us and your peers, so we can support your ambitions. We want to have a conversation about energy at a local level so that you can understand our future investment plans and we can understand yours.
To us, every electricity and gas connection marks a contribution to the economic recovery, and in many cases the green recovery efforts to ‘build back better’. That’s why we are so keen to work with you at this early stage to offer our support.
This event will be held online and is for Local Authority professionals. Local Authority officers may invite selected consultants and partners.
