Ofgem’s recent proposals for major reform on how the network is paid will have significant impacts on the energy market, changing how projects connect to the network and sending critical pricing signals that impact the business models for generators, behind the meter projects, storage and flexibility providers and EV charging – as set out in our recent blog.
This event, prior to the consultation response deadline, heard directly from Ofgem on the proposals and aims to enable members to understand the impacts including
- The proposals to change the charging boundary from deep to shallow
- Changes to use of system charges and the impact on business generation and behind the meter business models
- What might replace the Triad system of charging demand customers
- The potential for network charging to recognise the benefits of local and community project that better match supply and demand locally
The discussions also fed into Regen’s work to influence the proposals through consultation and the Charging Futures Forum.
