The Department for Energy Security and Net Zero published its second consultation regarding the Review of Electricity Market Arrangements, setting out far-reaching proposals for reform of the key energy market instruments, including CfDs, the Capacity Market and the Balancing Mechanism.
Regen and our members have led successful calls to put aside more radical reform proposals such as nodal pricing and are now focusing on an agenda for progressive market reform to enable the investment required to reach our net zero goals.
We heard directly from Dan Osgood, the director of energy markets and analysis at Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, alongside leading developers and investors to debate the most important issues for the clean energy sector and to review the reform options that government is now focusing on. We also used the event to shape our consultation response and shared insight from our latest paper on progressive market reform.
