Transport is one of the biggest emitters of carbon across the UK. Several Net Zero Living projects are developing and testing innovative new ideas around transport, including how to minimise the impact of vehicle electrification for the public, and how to operate electric vehicles across council fleets compared to petrol/diesel-powered vehicles.
The transport and mobility policy group convenes Net Zero Living participant members whose projects are exploring shared policy challenges when it comes to decarbonising transport. The Department for Transport is engaged with this group and together we are discussing and exploring how these innovations might translate into a policy environment.
The group meets quarterly, with Regen acting as the facilitator and delivering the policy outputs and technical assistance flowing from the key challenges and opportunities identified within our sessions.
If you are interested in finding out more about this group, get in touch with the group lead, Alex Robertson.
