As an organisation with a mission to tackle climate change by decarbonising our energy system, our activities are guided in large part by a commitment to climate justice. Our goals set out an explicit commitment to 'a thriving and diverse clean energy sector that creates economic opportunities, gives communities a stake and delivers affordable energy for all'.
But we recognise that this work must begin within Regen itself. We actively try to recruit from underrepresented groups and provide financial and other support to enable access to work experience placements where needed.
We have also developed a six-point pledge to improve diversity and inclusion in our work:
We will monitor our progress against this pledge and when, despite our best endeavours, we do not achieve it, will interrogate the reasons and seek to learn from them.
We recognise that this pledge places more emphasis on gender balance and acknowledge that we must continue to seek ways to improve diversity of race, socio-economic background and neurodiversity in our organisation and the work we do.
