We will be launching the first round of the 2025 ReWiRE mentoring programme on Thursday 8 May.

If you are joining us as a mentor, we will hold an online mentor training session on Friday 16 May, 1pm – 2pm and we ask all mentors to join this. We will send you a calendar invite for the training once you register.

The ReWiRE mentoring programme has been hugely popular, supporting women to enhance their potential through career choices and working practices, develop their strategic and financial acumen, and build their professional networks and profile. It matches the experience of one person with the potential of another, building personal and strong bonds with senior women and men across the sector.

The mentoring process begins with this match-making event where prospective mentors and mentees have the opportunity to meet during a ‘speed dating’ style session. During the session the mentees meet all of the mentors, where they have three minutes to introduce themselves and outline their interests, as well as the areas they would like to develop. At the end of the session, the mentees and mentors feed back to us on the chemistry and we pair them up. Once matched, the mentoring relationship can start, this usually lasts up to 12 months and will begin with a further call to set out objectives and timeframes. It is the responsibility of the mentee to maintain the relationship with the mentor, so be sure you have the time and commitment to the programme before signing up.

We organise matching events in the spring and autumn of each year. The feedback from mentees is that this ‘speed-dating’ process in itself very insightful, allowing them to refine their aims and expectations as the session progresses.

The initiative feeds into ReWiRE’s wider 2025 objectives to increase the visibility and profile of women working in the clean energy sector, and to support network participants to develop the skills to enable them to take positions on boards and in senior management across the sector.

Please feel free to recommend the programme to anyone you think would benefit from being a mentee and/or mentor. We welcome female mentees, and both male and female mentors.

Join ReWiRE

Connect with like-minded professionals, share insights, and empower women leading the transition to a clean energy future.

The ESN Winter Conference served as a platform for key industry players and policymakers to come together and engage in debate over what’s needed to attract the billions of investments required for this crucial asset class – from supportive policy and regulatory frameworks, shifting revenue strategies, and evolving business models.

We now have over 3.3 GW and 4.1 GWh of battery storage operational and GWs in construction. Grid-scale electricity storage is well-established as key to a zero-carbon energy system, a testament to the success of our 85+ Electricity Storage Network members.

We heard directly from ESN members and key decision-makers – from DESNZ, Ofgem and National Grid ESO – on the latest changes across a range of topics critical to the storage sector, including the Balancing Mechanism, grid connections, fire safety, and long-duration energy storage policy development. This was also an opportunity to learn about the ESN’s work to ensure policy, markets and regulation are geared to enable the storage sector to flourish and grow at the pace and scale required.

This replaces the Electricity Storage Network (ESN) Annual Conference usually held every January, established as one of the most popular industry events in the calendar leading the debate on the future of grid scale electricity storage.
