The offshore renewables sector is driving significant economic and environmental progress in the UK. The Crown Estate’s ongoing Offshore Wind Leasing Round 5 highlights this momentum, with plans to unlock up to 4.5 gigawatts (GW) of new floating wind capacity in the Celtic Sea – enough to power over 4 million homes. This milestone reflects the promising trajectory of the offshore sector and its vital role in shaping the UK’s renewable energy future.
These projects represent more than clean energy – they promise new jobs, economic growth and social value opportunities for coastal communities. However, the offshore renewables sector must reflect the diversity of the society it serves to achieve its full potential.
Despite progress, the industry still urgently needs greater representation, particularly in achieving gender balance. This session will explore how an ambitious and collaborative approach can help unlock the potential of the south west. Together, we’ll discuss practical steps to build a more diverse workforce, with a special focus on increasing opportunities for women. As part of this, we’ll host a dedicated “How I Got Here” session, where women in the industry will share their personal journeys into the offshore sector and provide insight into their roles.

The ESN Winter Conference served as a platform for key industry players and policymakers to come together and engage in debate over what’s needed to attract the billions of investments required for this crucial asset class – from supportive policy and regulatory frameworks, shifting revenue strategies, and evolving business models.
We now have over 3.3 GW and 4.1 GWh of battery storage operational and GWs in construction. Grid-scale electricity storage is well-established as key to a zero-carbon energy system, a testament to the success of our 85+ Electricity Storage Network members.
We heard directly from ESN members and key decision-makers – from DESNZ, Ofgem and National Grid ESO – on the latest changes across a range of topics critical to the storage sector, including the Balancing Mechanism, grid connections, fire safety, and long-duration energy storage policy development. This was also an opportunity to learn about the ESN’s work to ensure policy, markets and regulation are geared to enable the storage sector to flourish and grow at the pace and scale required.
This replaces the Electricity Storage Network (ESN) Annual Conference usually held every January, established as one of the most popular industry events in the calendar leading the debate on the future of grid scale electricity storage.

Camilla advises on M&A, joint ventures, equity fundraisings and general corporate matters, as well as specialising in co-operatives, community benefit societies and alternative structures.

Rachel leads Regen's strategic partnerships and impact, cementing our position as a leading independent force shaping the strategic pathway to and delivery of a clean energy future. As a working mother, Rachel is passionate about diversity and spearheads the ReWiRE programme, championing inclusion by empowering women in the renewables sector and building a vibrant network.
After graduating, Rachel began her career in the environmental sector and held a variety of event management and communication roles, including organising the Tour of Britain. Joining Regen in 2009, Rachel is passionate about industry-wide change and influencing policy and has received a British Empire Medal for her services to the energy sector.
Growing up in Devon, Rachel loves being outside—at the beach, on the moor, or in the woods. You can find her horse riding, walking her dog Biscuit, or growing vegetables!
Becky is a project manager specialising in offshore renewable energy, with an MSc in the field. She works closely with project developers and the wider supply chain to accelerate offshore energy deployment around the UK while maximising societal and system benefits. Becky also contributes to thought leadership pieces and consultation responses, shaping industry discussions on offshore energy.
Becky has worked with the electricity networks, devolved governments and local authorities, giving her a broad perspective on the energy transition. She contributed to Regen’s response to the 2024 Review of Energy Market Arrangements (REMA) consultation and sits on the PRIMaRE Steering Committee and Plymouth’s Net Zero Exchange Steering Group, influencing industry alignment and regional development.
As Regen’s social secretary, Becky brings just as much energy to team events as she does to her work. While organising her Girl Guides is notoriously easier than corralling the team, it does mean the team has a great time together, inside and outside the office.
Kerry is Portfolio Director of Offshore Wind in Simply Blue Group, where she takes plays a key role in company wide offshore wind development. Kerry also leads the UK political engagement activities, including for Blue Gem Wind and is the lead for development of Celtic Sea projects.
Kerry has more than a decade of experience in the renewable energy sector, working across the sector with marine energy project developers, and she has a broad range of experience in supply chain development, stakeholder engagement, planning, consenting and energy policy. Kerry is passionate about increasing female representation in the renewable energy sector. She is a regular conference speaker, mentor for students and professionals and holds guest lecturing posts at UK universities. Kerry has a BSc in Ocean Science and an MSc in Marine Renewable Energy. She also sits on the board of Plymouth Science Park
Elizabeth (Liz) Conboy is RenewableUK’s Executive Director, Commercial, responsible for its growing membership base, industry-leading events portfolio and market intelligence platform, EnergyPulse. Liz joined the organisation in spring 2024, having held several senior commercial positions across the live-events sector, and is passionate about expanding the reach and impact of RenewableUK through its membership network and forums.
Emily is a passionate communications leader, specialising in strategic communications, campaign delivery and social value creation for renewable energy and net zero development. Living in the south west, and working nationally, Emily has significant experience crafting accessible communications strategies to make technically-driven development proposals relatable, driving engagement and building understanding. Emily works for Turley, a team of trusted independent advisors that works collaboratively with clients to shape a more sustainable future.
Jen has extensive experience within planning and compulsory purchase law, with a focus on energy and utilities, regeneration and transport projects.
Her experience includes acting on large-scale infrastructure projects (including NSIPs), advising on EIA, Habitats Directive, water and marine licensing issues, assisting with the promotion and implementation of compulsory purchase orders (CPOs) for acquiring authorities and advising objectors to CPOs and dealing with complex compensation issues.
Jen regularly speaks at legal and industry events and is a member of the Compulsory Purchase Association and National Infrastructure Projects Association.
